Wegbereiter – Shaping health, together

“Wegbereiter” (Pathfinders) is the Bernkastel/Wittlich hospital group’s invitation to actively help shape the future of healthcare in the region. The project brings together people who take responsibility, show solidarity and want to strengthen medical care where it matters to everyone: right at the heart of our community.

Donations, volunteering and joint action make projects possible that could not be carried out to the desired extent with the available funds alone – from modern technology and additional treatment capacity to extra care services.

What a community can achieve

The biggest success so far: expanding the stroke unit from 6 to 10 beds, financed by the hospital’s own funds and an impressive 120,000 euros in donations. A milestone that shows what a community can achieve.

Wegbereiter means: securing the future together. Strengthening health together. Living humanity together.

That is why Wegbereiter receives support from KICK & CARE – Fußball hilft campaigns and events in 2026. By welcoming the project into our circle, we are deliberately extending our commitment to healthcare – because social responsibility doesn’t end at the touchline.
